Ideas, trends and experiments:

ART may be used for the benefit of almost any good cause. Right now, there are countless collective art projects aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and global solidarity.

ART is especially effective in situations when human rights are being undermined and it has been successfully employed to promote diverse causes such as: *minorities’ rights, *gender equality, *non-violence, *social justice or *environment protection.

In addition to traditional art forms, games, cartoons and digital characters can be used for educating and engaging young people.

ART is also a healing tool. Individuals who could benefit from art therapy should be able to enjoy more free web-based art meetings run by volunteers.

Moreover, the internet makes teaching crafts easier, thus opening the door to help struggling communities gain new skills and access to alternative sources of income.

The digital world also makes a strong argument in favor of re-working and sharing. Remixing other people’ creations and sharing them for free could revolutionize the way we see the world, re-establishing ART as a common good.

Last, but not least, ART can go hyper-local with micro events such as setting up a “single picture exhibition”, giving a concert from one’s balcony or placing a snow/sand/vegetal sculpture in the neighborhood.
